I’m Ashley! I’m a sixth-year third grade teacher in Iowa. For the first five years of my career, I taught fourth grade in rural Central Illinois.
I hold a M.S.Ed. in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction and a B.A. in Elementary Education. I am also a Level 1 Google Certified Educator. As a passionate lifelong learning, I am constantly taking courses and reading books to become a more well-rounded and skilled education professional. My favorite topics include elementary mathematics, student engagement, classroom technology, and trauma-informed teaching. I create engaging activities for middle-upper elementary students and sell them on Teachers Pay Teachers.
My current school qualifies as Title I and has a diverse student population in many ways. We are currently 2:1 with Chromebooks and strictly follow a PLC framework, PBIS, and restorative practices. Within my district, I serve on our district’s mathematics curriculum committee and serve as the head of my PLC.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking low-carb recipes, working out, being outdoors, traveling, volunteering for a youth leadership non-profit, and researching genealogy.
